Been a bit busy of late, what with the upturn in the weather from low temperatures for this time of year to a mini heat wave this week. The running has been abandoned for a few days, the poor plants at the allotment are all gasping for water and the grass have grown a zillion feet since last week. So early this morning I went up the allotment to cut the grass & water. Just watered the veggies I’m growing at home and now I’m my own person for the rest of the day apart from this afternoons dog walk.

I have been putting together a website to sell my handcrafted items. Which takes more time than you ever expect. I was just finishing it when I spoke to my good friend Jane Colquhoun, whom I’m not seen in person for a couple of weeks as she is getting ready for Purbeck Art Week (PAW) and Dorset Art Weeks.

It turns out that now she has had her attic converted into a studio she doesn’t really need her studio at the The Boiler House Gallery in Corfe and was wandering about giving it up – we both had a EUREKA moment and came up with the idea of using her studio as a shop for our crafts. The fine details have not been sorted but the Collective who run the gallery have agreed to her running a shop from there and for the shop to become part of the collective. The shop will be above their public gallery/shop. Which is such great news.
So….after the studio has been used as a gallery for Purbeck Art Week we shall be setting up as a shop to compliment our website & shop , Facebook page and face book shop.
Will keep you all posted, lots of work to be done in the next month including making some stock.
All works in progress :
Facebook – crafts by the sea
Website – www.craftsbythesea.co.uk
Shop – The shop in the loft
If you are ever in Corfe Castle, Dorset, England look out for the Boiler House gallery which is behind Corfe Castle Station (Steam Trains).
