Dog walk – jelly fish
We’ve had some very high tides recently.
They have washed up all the normal things – seaweed, rubbish etc but we have also been getting shells, which we generally don’t have and quite a few dead jelly fish.
The seaweed in some places has been 2-3 ft deep, makes it a bit treacherous for me as it is quite slippery but the dog loves it.
The weather has been quite warm so the dog has started paddling in the sea again.
This is the largest jelly fish I’ve every seen, the phone case is 5.5 inches long.
Update 20/5/2015: I have now found out they are barrel jellyfish and are not dangerous. I saw one in the sea yesterday, they are quite stunning, needless to say I didn’t do any paddling just in case.
Yep its been raining yet again, but with the added gale force winds which make dog walking such a lovely experience.
The weather has been very much april showers with winds. We get patches of sunshine followed by complete downpours of rain – Squally I think is the term for this.
Just when I’d put away my wellies and rain coat I had to get them out again THIS IS JUNE where is the good weather.
This weather is good for somethings, we pass this fungus (I think it a fungus) on one part of our walk through a dense covered path, in the last week it has grown from nothing to this below. Sorry about the quality but I only had my Blackberry with me and it was fairly dark on that part of the path.
You can just see how choppy the sea was due to the wind.
Any way the dog doesn’t care about any of this as long as he doesn’t get too wet.
