I’m back blogging again
Its been a while since I last blogged and a few things have changed, some have progressed and some things might start to happen. Here are the headlines more will follow later.
The Boiler house gallery is still going strong and have had another great PAW (Purbeck art weeks)
Jane and I have closed The Loft Shop at the gallery, Janes work can still be found at the Boilerhouse gallery and other venues around Swanage. My knitted and crocheted work can be found at Purl & Lace in Swanage.
I have moved house to the other end of Swanage. (most stressful move I’ve ever had). I now have a smaller study so am trying to use up the wool stash which I didn’t realise was so big until I came to pack it all up to move.
Running is a bit hit and miss, mostly miss at the moment.
We came through the terrible winter virtually unscathed apart from needing a new aerial, so lucky.
Julie and I ran some learn to crochet workshops leading up to Christmas, and I ran a sewing shop in the new year.
I’ve designed a couple of baby patterns.
Made lots of knitted and crocheted items for myself and for Purl & lace.
Summer season started today as the schools have broken up and the weather is extremely hot.
The dog is either paddling or lying in the cool around the house.
I’m gradually moving the free patterns to this site
Once agin there is so much water lying around that the wellies have been in full use. On the picture of the welliesI hope you can see the wet mark as to how deep the water was on some of the paths. Any way the dog doesn’t care, love paddling and drinking his way through the puddles.
His summer allergies have cleared up and we are Hopefully back to normal until next summer.
Not much beach walking at the moment as we are in the middle of spring tides but should get back to normal next week. When it’s not raining or hailstones – yesterday!!! – the sun is out and its like summer with a little chill in the air. The beach on Monday was packed with people walking on what little bit on sand was available.
Have also met up with a couple of dog walkers who I rarely see over the summer, good to seem them and catch up. They have gained a new puppy friend and have lost a dear friend.
The deer are supplying the background noise at the moment but are not visible apart from the one in the photograph below.
Jaffa also went on his holidays to the farm, came back smelly, dirty and worn out – I think he had a good time with the other dogs, horses and trails through the forest.
Also the mushrooms are popping up.
Yep its been raining yet again, but with the added gale force winds which make dog walking such a lovely experience.
The weather has been very much april showers with winds. We get patches of sunshine followed by complete downpours of rain – Squally I think is the term for this.
Just when I’d put away my wellies and rain coat I had to get them out again THIS IS JUNE where is the good weather.
This weather is good for somethings, we pass this fungus (I think it a fungus) on one part of our walk through a dense covered path, in the last week it has grown from nothing to this below. Sorry about the quality but I only had my Blackberry with me and it was fairly dark on that part of the path.
You can just see how choppy the sea was due to the wind.
Any way the dog doesn’t care about any of this as long as he doesn’t get too wet.
Well what a week of under achievement!.
Having come down with the worst cold I’ve ever had ( no exaggeration) I achieved absolutely nothing this week apart from sniffing, sneezing, blowing my nose and feeling sick all the time.
Not only have I been feeling miserable but the weather has been atrocious. It has been so windy and rainy here is feels like April showers on a high.
So I need to catch up on everything starting here.
Firstly I’ve been nominated for another Blog award by fsszj who has nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Thanks – I do appreciate it and I will pass it on as soon as I can.
Not only did I have this cold but so did Julie who was going to tutor the Knitting workshop on Saturday with me but she was just as ill as me, so we cancelled our workshop. All the ladies were lovely when we cancelled the workshop, we will re-arrange it ASAP.
Above are some of the things we were going to cover in our workshop.
We have also had Petes mother down (“mother in law”) for a long weekend as it her 85th Birthday last friday on the 15th. They’ve gone out for a walk so hence I’m catching up with my blog.
The weather today is calm – no wind – yippee and sunny so far. I walked the dog this morning and it was a pleasure to get out and about without wearing wellies ( although there is lots of mud and puddles around) and a raincoat.
More posts on their way…………………….
Begining walking in our summer walking places as we are banned from the beach for the summer.
The wood carving is of a Seahorse as there is “collection” of seahorses resident in the local bay.
The rest are taken at various points in Durlston Country Park
Yep its been raining again but we got a break this morning, having been getting wet dog walking most days last week.
The walk this morning was dry but there is a lot of water lying on the waterlogged ground.
I am progressing with my running!!
After I finished my running course I could run 3.05m/5K in 45.30 mins I can now run it in 43.44 which is an improvement and I hope in time to get a lot faster.
We went to Whitstable for a night over the weekend.
The weather had been atrocious but the sun finally came out so we went for a run along Whitstable promenade from the harbour towards Herne Bay and back. On Saturday morning my partner took part in the Whitstable Park Run. The weather was pretty windy and wild but he managed a good time.
